Description

TYPES OF EXTRUDED ALUMINUM BOX

Extruded Aluminum Box are primarily categorized into the following four types:

Profile Enclosures
Features: The most common type, resembling long aluminum rails that are cut to length as needed.
As a primary advantage, the design is highly flexible, allowing for integrated features, for instance, card slots and cooling fins.Applications: Used in various equipment chassis, frames, and protective covers.

Frame-style Enclosures
Features: Constructed by assembling U-shaped or L-shaped profiles into a rectangular frame, offering robust structure.
Advantages: Neat internal layout, easy installation, and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Applications: Ideal for instrumentation and industrial control equipment.

Heat Sink Enclosures
Features: Designed with integrated, dense cooling fins directly on the enclosure body.
Advantages: Provide efficient, unified cooling in a compact structure.
Applications: Suitable for high-power LED lights, power supplies, and amplifiers.

Modular Enclosures
Features: Composed of multiple standardized components that can be assembled like building blocks.
Advantages: Offer flexible sizing and configuration, ideal for custom solutions.
Applications: Perfect for laboratory equipment and custom chassis.

We offer over 300 different specifications of aluminum alloy profiles to choose from. No additional mold costs are required; there's always one suitable for your product.

EXTRUDED ALUMINUM BOX MANUFACTURING PROCESS

Extruded Aluminum Box are manufactured through a precise, multi-step process that ensures structural integrity and a high-quality aesthetic finish.

1. Die Design & Preparation
A precision steel die is machined to the exact profile of the desired cross-section. This foundational step defines the enclosure's final shape.2. Billet Heating
An aluminum alloy billet is heated in an oven to approximately 400-500°C, making it pliable for extrusion.3. Extrusion
The heated billet is forced through the die using a hydraulic ram. The aluminum emerges as a continuous profile, which is guided along a run-out table.4. Quenching & Cooling
The profile is rapidly cooled by fans using air or water. This quenching process locks in the metallurgical structure and enhances the material's strength.5. Stretching & Straightening
The cooled profile is stretched to correct any twisting or bowing, ensuring dimensional accuracy and straightness.6. Cutting to Length
The continuous profile is cut into specific, manageable lengths using a flying saw.
7. Heat Treatment (Aging)
The cut lengths are artificially aged in an oven. This precipitation hardening process optimizes the aluminum's mechanical properties.
8. Surface Finishing
Anodizing: This common finish creates a hard, corrosion-resistant oxide layer that also serves as an electrical insulator, available in various colors.
Powder Coating: A thick, durable polymer coating is applied, offering excellent wear and weather resistance for decorative and protective purposes.
9. Fabrication & CNC Machining
Final components are machined by CNC systems to add holes, threads, slots, and other features required for assembly and component installation.

EXTRUDED ALUMINUM BOX CNC MACHINING

Material Selection & Preparation: We select high-grade aluminum blanks, typically 6061 or 6063, for optimal machinability and strength. Operators then securely clamp the raw material onto the CNC machine bed.

CAD/CAM Programming: Engineers translate a 3D CAD model into machine instructions (G-code) via CAM software. This process defines toolpaths, cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cuts for the entire operation.

Machining Process: The CNC machine executes a series of precision operations:

  • Facing: Creates a flat reference surface.

  • Milling: Shapes the external profile and internal cavities.

  • Drilling & Tapping: Produces holes and threads for fasteners and components.

  • Deburring & Finishing: Technicians meticulously remove sharp edges and burrs. We can then apply surface treatments (e.g., anodizing, sandblasting) to enhance corrosion resistance and aesthetics.

Quality Inspection: Inspectors rigorously check the final enclosure using precision instruments like CMMs. This verifies critical dimensions and ensures compliance with design specifications.
